EnergiHub, is the new intelligent energy app from SSE Airtricity. You can seamlessly connect your devices like your solar panels, smart battery and electric vehicle (EV) if you have one. You can see the energy consumption of your devices within the app, and then allow the EnergiHub artificial intelligence (AI) to optimise your usage and reduce your costs. Working as a virtual power plant (VPP), EnergiHub will take external factors into consideration such as energy prices and the weather forecasts to ensure you’re getting the best value.
The best smart tariff plan for you when signed up to EnergiHub is the Smart EV Charge plan with SSE Airtricity.
SSE Airtricity's Smart EV Charge tariff gives you super low cost electricity rates between 2am and 5am. Perfect for powering your home and charging your home battery with cleaner, greener energy that you can then use to power your home during the day and allow you to export more electricity back to the grid that you get paid for. In essence, you will be charging your battery in the middle of the night for less than 9c per kW and exporting electricity back to the grid with your PremiumGen export rate and getting paid 29.5c per kW.
EnergiHub will communicate with your solar inverter (Solis) through the app to make sure that you only charge your battery during off-peak periods. This will make sure that your battery then has enough charge to power your home during peak daytime hours, so you never pay the highest rates to power your home and it will allow you to export more during the day back to the grid, resulting in lower energy bills.
EnergiHub will communicate with your car through the app according to your manufacturer’s guidelines on how frequently we can access the information we need to make sure that you only charge your car during the green, offpeak periods. If you plug in your car at home, it may start charging straight away. If this happens, we’ll try to stop the charge as soon as possible but you’ll have to pay your usual energy unit rate for any energy used prior to us stopping the charging and creating your schedule.
