Takeda Ireland is a leading pharmaceutical company employing over 1,000 people across four sites in Dublin and Wicklow. Its Irish operations support global markets through advanced manufacturing, commercial operations and the development of innovative, life-changing medicines.
Activ8 Energies partnered with Takeda to deliver a 637kWp solar PV carport system, making maximum use of the available space while supporting the company’s commitment to renewable energy. The system features 1,249 solar panels and was installed within just eight weeks, creating a large-scale source of clean energy without relying on additional roof space.

Activ8 Energies delivered Ireland’s largest solar PV carport solution at the time, providing Takeda with a 637kWp renewable energy system across 1,249 solar panels. The project was completed within a record eight-week timeline, transforming existing parking space into a valuable source of clean energy.
“A solar PV carport is a really clever way of producing energy and saving on electricity bills when roofs may be shaded or are structurally limited.”
Martin Mulholland
Commercial Director, Activ8 Energies

We designed and installed a 637kWp solar PV carport system featuring 1,249 QCELL solar modules, making maximum use of existing parking space without relying on additional roof space. Completed in just eight weeks, the system provides Takeda with a large-scale source of clean energy while helping to reduce its reliance on traditional electricity sources and lower its carbon footprint.

By using this system Takeda Carport can reduce emissions by approximately 145 tonnes (or 591,684 kg/yr) of CO2 per year.

This system has a carbon impact equivalent to planting around 3,778 mature trees per year.
